The Crushing

Crushing: A Godly sorrow that worketh repentance.

“I will make them want to know me. They will know that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God. This is because they will return to me with their whole hearts.”

‭‭

Jeremiah‬ ‭24:7‬ ‭ICB‬‬

Rather you are entering a crushing, you are in the midst of a crushing, or if you just came out of a crushing it’s important to know that what the enemy means for evil; God is able to turn it right back around for the spiritual good of you and others when we truly love Him.

The prophet Jeremiah had a very weighty message to carry to the unfaithful kings, priest, prophets and people of Judah when their hearts wavered. He exposed how they exchanged their love for the one true God for idol worship. He called them unfaithful adulterers.

He warned them of the correction that would come if they didn’t repent, destroy their idols, and turn back. A correction that would crush their sin of idol worship to turn their hearts back to God.

The people of Judah did not heed the warning from Jeremiah and as a result their nation experienced a great crushing orchestrated by God. Their enemy Babylon was able to come in, destroy their land, and hold them in bondage for 70 years.

It was in those 70 years God was able to do a work in their hearts. He never rejects a heart that is broken and sorry for its sins.

Right now the Holy Spirit is sounding the alarm…TURN BACK TO GOD!

There are crushings taking place and the Father really wants us to understand the purpose behind them because God does have a plan for the spiritual good of His people, but it begins with repentance…a turning back to loving God most.

There are too many idols today to even list. An idol is anything or anyone that we worship and love more than God. Our words can say we love God most, but what do our time say?

Only you can answer that. Ask Holy Spirit to reveal your idols today. Repent, destroy them, and turn back to your first and greatest love.

Return with your whole heart.
