Preparing a Heart of Worship

As I walked the path last night, the Spirit was stirring in me that it was time to prepare. Prepare what? A place to gather…and tonight my darling led us in building an alter of worship.

Landry’s prayer ♥️…as parents, Jesus is the greatest gift we can give our children. Not church, not tradition, not our faith—JESUS. He is their only way to eternal life.

I’m going to be honest with you…I barely get my kids to a “church”. I love the church but my priority is being the church for my children to see…being intentional with my relationship with God first, my family next, and then others.

My husband and I have a great responsibility to shepherd our children. I used to feel guilty because tradition looks like gathering in a building on Sunday morning in your Sunday best and then once again on Wednesday. I’m saying farewell to tradition.

God says in Hebrews 10 “You should not stay away from the church meetings, as some are doing. But you should meet together and encourage each other. Do this even more as you see the Day coming.”

This is how God is asking our family to meet as the church. We worship walk the path my darling has prepared, we read the word together and separately, we share daily what God is speaking to each of us in the word. We fast together and we pray together…my children are experiencing what it is to have an intimate, daily relationship with God. What it is to be a true disciple.

I’m not against gathering in the church building—don’t get me wrong. As I said before I love the church…and for that reason we pray for unity in the church and that she will be refined in these coming days.

So this is us…and this is where God has led our family…and I’m so thankful…so, so very thankful as we forget the former things and allow God to do a new thing.
